Judith's Story

Judith Ellen Whitley Boles, 78, of Oakboro, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 at her home. Judy was born March 21, 1938 in Stanly County to the late Samp Ephram Whitley and the late Lela Rebecca Whitley.
The private graveside service, officiated by Rev. Dwight Mabry and Rev. Phillip Smith, will be on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Barbee's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 24819A Barbee's Grove Rd., Oakboro.
She is survived by her sister, Dot Alsobrooks and husband Chip of Oakboro; brother, Don E. Whitley and wife Barbara of Oakboro; nephew, Chris Whitley and wife Veronica; nieces, Amy Whitley, Wendi Miller and husband Brent; great-niece, Hannah Whitley; and great-nephew, Baron Whitley.
Judy was a loving and wonderful sister, aunt, and friend. Judy was a hardworking and dedicated employee that made many friends through her work at Williams Oil and Lee Oil and Gas, where she worked as a bookkeeper. She also spent many years in advertising at the Southeast Shopper. Judy loved her nieces and nephews as though they were her own children, and always enjoyed going to see them play sports. She also loved watching basketball. Judy was one of a kind, and will be sorely missed by all those who knew her.
