Bobby Perry's Story
Bobby Perry Blake, Sr., 86, Albemarle, died and went to be with the Lord at 11:35 a.m., Thursday, May 4, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
His Celebration of Life service will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 7 at First Lutheran Church in Albemarle. The Reverend Louise Hilbert will officiate. Some of his favorite hymns will be sung by his daughter Reba, husband Bryan, and granddaughter Shelly Burris and by his grandson Jeremy Blake.
Born on October 2, 1930 in New London, he was the son of the late Earnest Edgar and Effie Mae Perry Blake. During his long and productive work life, he worked as a supervisor at a cotton mill, worked in home and business construction, owned and managed an antique/flea market store, and worked as a car salesman at Spivey's Used Cars in Albemarle.
He was preceded in death by his loving first wife Faye, his son Bobby Perry Blake, Jr., his brothers Reece and Leon Blake, and his sisters Jewell Blake Smith and Lucille Blake Morgan.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Martha, of the home; his son Jeff Blake (wife Phyllis); daughters Reba Burris (husband Bryan) and Catherine Hannah Blake-Harris; grandsons Greg Blake (wife Rebecca), Jeremy Blake (wife Pam), Chad Little (wife Rebecca), and Bryan Blake (wife Ashley); granddaughters Brittnie Blake and Shelly Burris; great-grandsons Jake Blake, Justin Blake, Chance Blake, Drew Little, Ayden Blake, Brantley Blake, and Carter Blake; great-granddaughters Jordan Blake and Laney Little; brother Joe Blake (wife Evelyn); and step-sons James Monroe (wife Hanni and children Hadley and Andrew) and David Monroe (wife Leigh Anne).
Bob loved fishing, selling cars, and watching NASCAR races.
Memorial donations in memory of Bob can be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. 1st St., Albemarle, N.C. or the Dale Earnhardt Foundation.
The family would like to express gratitude for the wonderful care given to Bob by the caring staff of Hospice of Stanly County.
