Betty Crisco's Story
Betty Crisco Dixon, 86, of Albemarle passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 in CHS Stanly, in Albemarle. Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2017 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Parsons officiating. Entombment will follow in the Fairview Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care from 5 until 8 p.m.
Born December 1, 1930 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late James Arthur Crisco and Pauline Russell Crisco and was a retired textile worker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gold Hill and she loved to travel, especially the beach trips she took with her sisters.
Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by her husband Ray L. Dixon in 2009. Mrs. Dixon is survived by three daughters, Diane Lunsford and husband Roger of Norwood, Patsy Yarbrough and husband Don of Albemarle and Barbara Hatley and husband Terry of Albemarle, brothers Max Crisco of Richfield, Roger Crisco of New London, and Edward Crisco of Locust and sister Shirley Fesperman of Albemarle, 11 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Seniors Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Gold Hill, 16141 Old Beatty Ford Rd., Gold Hill, NC 28071.
Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Albemarle is serving the Dixon family.
