Theodore Eugene Lodge, 92, of Albemarle, NC passed away at Woodhaven Court Assisted Living in Albemarle on September 9, 2017.
A memorial service to celebrate Teds life will be held on Friday Sept 15, 2017 at the Norwood Church of the Nazarene 424 Flynn Rd. Family will receive friends from 6pm to 7pm, service to start at 7pm. A graveside Service will be held Saturday October 14, 2017 4pm at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Wolf Creek Pike, Perry Township Ohio
Ted was born Sept 3, 1925 in the family home in Brookville, Ohio. Ted was raised in Liberty, Ohio and graduated from Jefferson Township School in 1943. Ted joined the US Army on Nov 18, 1943 and served in Northern France until August 1945. He received the American Theater Ribbon, EAME Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Metal World War II. He received an Honorable Discharge May 22, 1946. He went to work at Wright Patterson AFB in Fairborn, Ohio as a Classified Material Handler for 34 years and retired December 1982.
He was active in his community in New Carlisle Ohio for 62 years. Ted traveled the south pacific, was an avid reader, and enjoyed nature. After retirement he learned how to play the piano and took art classes for painting portraits. He also was a very good photographer through his years. He was a member of the Donnelsville Lutheran Church and attended the West Acres Church of the Nazarene in Trotwood, Ohio and the Orange Church of the Nazarene in Orange, VA. He has spent the last 10 years in assisted living centers in Virginia and North Carolina.
He is survived by his brother John Edward of Redding, Calif.; his three nieces, Mary Katherine Brame DeAngulo of Bradenton, FL, Carol Ann Brame Lannom and Ruth Mae Brame Rodriguez of Norwood, NC; 1 great niece, 4 great nephews, 2 great-great nieces and 3 great-great nephews.
