Born May 29, 1991 in Mecklenburg County, he was the son of Stephen Basinger and wife Tracy and Elizabeth Byrd Basinger. Jordan was raised and grew up in Stanly County. He was an electrical subcontractor and a member of Second Street Presbyterian Church.
He was an avid music lover and one of his lifelong goals was to learn to play every musical instrument. He loved animals of all kinds. He was always rescuing something, whether it be animal or human. He never met a stranger and was not willing to let anyone suffer through hard times alone, no matter his financial situation or inconvenience. His time at Levine's Children's Hospital in 2005 left a lasting impression on Jordan. He was drawn to children with medical problems. All he ever wanted was to help anyone in need. He had a generous heart and loving spirit.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Basinger is survived by his loving fiance Chelsea Mae and their two beloved cats Marcellus and Lucy, brothers Nathan Basinger and Benjamin Basinger and sister Tessa Basinger, maternal grandfather Keith Byrd and his wife Ann, maternal grandmother Lorraine Davis Byrd, maternal great-grandmother Mildred Davis. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfather Johnny Davis and paternal grandparents Clara Elrod and Hayden Basinger.
