Jo Anne Brown's Story
Mrs. Jo Anne Brown Efird of Albemarle, NC passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017 in the Woodhaven Court, Albemarle, NC.
Her service will be on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the First Lutheran Church, Albemarle, NC with Pastor Louise Hilbert officiating. The family will receive friends at the Stanly Funeral & Cremation Care on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Fairview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Efird was born March 20, 1930 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late Robert Hall Brown and Cordelia Cox Ritchie Brown. She was a graduate of High Point Business College and a retired women's editor with the Stanly News & Press Newspaper. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Albemarle and a member of the Local Chapter of the DAR.
Mrs. Efird was married to the late Mike Coble Efird who preceded her in death in 1991.
Also preceding her in death was a son Robert Coble Efird and a brother, J. Daniel Brown.
Survivors include a son Joe Michael Efird and wife Janet of Albemarle, NC, a daughter Mary Elisa Efird Shue and husband Bobby Gene of Mt. Gilead, NC, 10 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

At other hours the family will be meeting at the home of her son, Joe Efird, 31957 Farmwood Lane, Albemarle, NC.
