Jimmy Cline's Story
Jimmy Cline Huneycutt, 64, of Albemarle passed away Friday, February 17, 2017.
His funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Friendship United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Cauble officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care from 5 until 8 p.m. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
Born September 26, 1952 in Stanly County he was the son of R.E. Huneycutt, Jr. and Mary Ruth Herlocker Huneycutt. Mr. Jimmy was a Graduate of North Carolina State University. He was a former member of Bank of Stanly Board of Directors. Jimmy was the owner of Locust Farm Home and Garden and former owner of Mauney Feed Mill in New London.
He had a great love for his church and was a lifetime active member of Friendship United Methodist Church serving as a Sunday school teacher and other positions in the church. Jimmy was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who shared this with his children and those around him. He looked forward to yearly hunting trips to South Dakota with family and friends.
In his spare time, Jimmy also loved tinkering with antique John Deere tractors as well as spending time with his true joy, his grandchildren. Many evenings were spent on Gator rides around the family farm with all of the children laughing and enjoying Pa's company.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 43 years, Deborah Mauldin Huneycutt of the home. Other survivors include sons, Jason C. Huneycutt and wife Brandi of Albemarle and Jamie T. Huneycutt and wife Erin ofAsheville, daughter Ashley H. Carter and husband Matt of Albemarle, grandchildren, Neleh, Alexander, Lannah, Levi, Ella Grace, and Meredith, and many nieces and nephews. Jimmy is also survived by a sister, Judy Huneycutt Clayton and husband Billy of Albemarle.
