Jewell Christine Little Efird, 90 years of age, of Stanfield, went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at her son's home in Albemarle.
Jewell was born December 21, 1926 in Stanly County to the late Paul Savage Little and the late Minty Jane Love Little. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Ralph, Carl, Melvin, Lewis and John Little; and sisters, Pauline Kirby, Ruth Furr and Lucille Marshall.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 - 11 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Love's Grove United Methodist Church, 4360 Polk Ford Road, Stanfield. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Jim White, will follow at 11 a.m. in the church santuary. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of her son.
She is survived by her husband, Jason Eugene Efird of Stanfield; son, Gerald Wayne (Gail) Efird of Albemarle; daughter, Lisa Efird (Mark) Hartsell of Stanfield; granddaughters, Kelly Efird (Brett) Barbee, and Lauren Alisa Hartsell; and great-grandsons, Ian Patrick and Elliot Jacob Simmons.
Jewell will be remembered for her strong faith in God and her love for others. She always put others before herself, giving generously of her time and talents and meeting the needs of friends and strangers alike. Throughout her life as long as her health permitted, she lived her faith through service, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, singing alto in her church choir, participating in the United Methodist Women, and serving in many leadership capacities in her church. Never without a smile, she viewed the world through eyes of faith and always looked on the bright side of any situation.
