Jerry Wayne Little, 68, passed away suddenly at his home, Sunday, September 17, 2017.
He was born to the late Curtis and Dessie Little, November 2, 1948 in Cabarrus County, where he remained a lifelong resident. A 1967 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, Jerry worked as a brick mason for nearly 50 years, most recently as owner/operator of Little's Masonry. When he wasn't on the job site, he would oftentimes be found in the field as he farmed in his spare time, remaining true to his family roots.
He enjoyed spending time with his family. Some of his fondest memories were of the Oakboro 4th of July celebrations, traveling the country attending tractor pulls with his two sons, and visiting his daughter at the beach for a round of putt-putt and pizza. Of course, he would never leave without enjoying a seafood buffet.
Jerry is survived by his three children: Jeremy (Robin) Little, of Mauldin, SC; Ryan Little, of Concord, NC; and Lindsey (Erik) Jonsson, of Conway, SC; two grandchildren, Emily Little, of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Camden Little, of Mauldin, SC; two sisters, Carolyn Pinion of Midland, NC; and Diane Carter, of Midland, NC. He is preceded in death by his parents: Curtis and Dessie Little; a granddaughter, Parker Little; and a sister, Judy Fisher.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8pm on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The service to celebrate his life will be at 3 pm on Friday, September 22, 2017 in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Mount Pleasant Masonry Program, 700 Walker Rd., Mount Pleasant, NC 28124.
Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Little family.
