Detective Jamie Lynn Shue 211, 42, of Rockwell, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Duke University Hospital in Durham.
He was born on June 7, 1974 to Darrell and Rushie Austin Shue in Concord, N.C.
Jamie was a 1992 graduate of South Rowan High School, he completed Basic Law Enforcement Training at RCCC and obtained the Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate.
Jamie was a 13-year veteran of the Stanly County Sheriff's Office, he was currently a Detective, a member of the Honor Guard and the Special Response Team. He was a former K9 handler and had recently received certification in the Internet Crimes Against Children State Task Force.
Jamie was a very active member of Nazareth Community Church, and the Faithful Followers Sunday School Class. He was the recreation leader for Awanas, and he was active in the men's group.
Jamie had a passion for coaching. He coached the Swarm 8U Softball Team. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.
But more importantly Jamie was a husband, father and friend who loved spending time with his wife, daughters and family.
In addition to his parents, Jamie is survived by his Wife of over 19 years, Heather Barger Shue, whom he married October 4, 1997; Daughters, Madalynn and Eva Shue of the home; Twin Brother, Jason Shue and wife Lori of Mt. Pleasant; Sister-In-Law, Brandi Whitaker of Faith; Mother-in-law, Sharon Barger of Rockwell; Nephews, Colton Whitaker and Austin Shue; Niece, Abby Shue; and Grandmothers, Millie Austin and Thelma Archer, both of China Grove. Jamie is also survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Visitation will be Monday, March 6, 2017, 4-8 p.m. at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell, N.C.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at 4 p.m. at the Nazareth Community Church, Rockwell, N.C., with close friend and Pastor Mike Shoaf officiating.
