Edward Lamar's Story
CARRBORO: Edward Lamar (Tip) Lentz, 87, of Carrboro, NC, died Tuesday, January 2, at UNC Hospitals.
Ed was born October 10, 1930, in Norwood, NC, to Joe C. and Gladys Mills Lentz. He graduated from Pfeiffer College and UNC Chapel Hill with a bachelor's and master's degree in Education. He was a guidance counselor at Hamlet High School and served as principal at Fairview Heights Elementary School, both in Hamlet, NC.
He is survived by his son, Eddy Lentz, and daughter-in-law Lindsey Emery, daughter, Tina Mansfield, and son-in-law Chris, and three granddaughters. Ed was preceeded in death by his parents and sisters Geraldine Dennis and Rachel Smith.

grandfather, brother, and friend to all who were fortunate to know
A memorial service will be held at Clements Funeral Home in Durham, NC, on Saturday, January 13 at 10am.
