Barbara Jean's Story

Barbara Jean Brown, 74, of Richfield passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017. Mrs. Brown was born on July 30, 1942 in Rowan County daughter of the late Lee Hoffner and Lena Owens Hoffner.
Mrs. Brown attended Rockwell High School and had worked at Cannon Mills and at the Stanly News and Press newspaper. She was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Howard Brown and brothers and sisters: Velna Carrick, Jessie Burrage, Arlene Morgan, Blanch Gobble, Bud Hoffner, Annie Lee Hall and Mary Jane Ward.
Survivors include brother Ernest Hoffner of Salisbury and sisters, Edna Mahaley of Kernersville. Johnnie Earnhardt of Richfield and Helen "Sis" Stiller of Salisbury.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at the Salisbury National Cemetery, 202 Government Road, by Rev Bill Ketchie Visitation Pastor St. Matthews Lutheran Church.
